Dragons Blood Soap Bar

Dragons Blood is a precious red resin from the Dracaena (or Calamus) woods. While many interpretations of Dragons Blood are available, I use a blend that closely resembles what the red resin smells like in perfumery. When the resin is added to perfumers alcohol a spicy heady tincture results that is wonderful in a perfume blend. 

I love my fragrance blend, but note that it does soften in soap, losing its heady notes. It is easy to smell the essence, but it's not as nuanced as the same fragrance in a candle, perfume or melt, for instance. The soap naturally discolors to a greige around the reddish swirl.
